THE County Gazette reported on pop star Peter Andre having an emergency operation at Musgrove Park Hospital in November 2010 - an event that was to change his life.
The Mysterious Girl singer was rushed to the Taunton hospital in "excruciating pain" a day before he was due to perform at Butlin's in Minehead.
His spokesperson at the time he was in agony when he was admitted Musgrove after a scheduled appearance at Plymouth Pavilions was cancelled.
He is believed to have received treatment for a kidney problem.
His ex-wife Katie Price said: “I’m told Pete’s management company are going to release a statement saying Pete been rushed to hospital with stomach pains!
"Why does press need to know! Hope Pete’s ok.”
Peter Andre was so grateful to his surgeon Ruaraidh 'Ru' MacDonagh that they became friends.
That led to the one-time I'm a Celebrity contestant Peter meeting the surgeon's daughter, Taunton-born Emily, a doctor - and the rest is history.
The couple embarked on a relationship and were married in 2015.
Peter, now aged 50, and Emily, 33, have two children with a third on the way.
