The popular Christmas Winterlights train trips on West Somerset Railway return this weekend.

The hour-long round trips start from Bishops Lydeard station, on a train decorated with coloured lights. They take passengers on a journey past seasonal displays in the woods and countryside of West Somerset, arriving at Crowcombe Heathfield station to view the festive illuminations, before returning to Bishops Lydeard.

The Winterlights trains start running today (Saturday, November 25), starting at 5pm and 7pm. On Friday, December 1, the trips start at 5.30pm and 7.30pm. The same timings apply on Saturday, December 2, but the 5.30pm trip is already sold out.

On the following three Fridays and Saturdays, December 8/9, 15/16 and 22/23, the trips start at 5pm and 7pm.  They also run on Thursday, December 21.

After Christmas the Winterlights trains run on December 27, 28, 29 and 30.
