A FESTIVAL featuring over 50 decorated Christmas trees has recently opened its doors for “the very special community in Ilminster”.

The free Christmas Tree Festival started at the Minster earlier this week, on Monday, November 27.

Each tree has been individually decorated and crib scenes were created by families, groups, organisations, and businesses.

Each exhibit is collecting donations for a range of charities and other good causes.

Rev Jo Stobart said: “The Christmas Tree Festival is a great example of the very special community in Ilminster working together to produce a wonderful event that brightens all our spirits and helps so many good causes.

“We've already seen lots of excited people - young and old alike - visiting the Festival, enjoying the amazing trees and giving money to their favourite causes.

“Last night our local cubs and beavers came for a special visit and workshop too.

“As a church, we're delighted to host this event and share with our community in the joy of Christmas.”

You can visit the festival each day this week from 9am to 5pm as well as our late-night opening on Thursday (November 30) until 7pm, or on Saturday (December 2) from 9am to 3pm.

Entry is free and all are very welcome.
