THREE Taunton Town supporters set off from their home town late on Tuesday evening heading for Newcastle to undertake the first leg of their challenge to visit all 164 clubs in the top seven divisions of the football league before the end of this season, to raise funds for the Children’s Hospice South West.
Earlier this week Jack Scadden who is Taunton born and bred and a life long supporter of the Peacocks collected the car that the trio will be travelling in from their sponsors Somerset County Sports.
Shane Jordan, Keenan Blight and Jack plan to visit each club in the Premier League in the space of 24 hours and set off from St James Park at 10am on Wednesday morning. After visiting the Premier League clubs the trio will then work their way through the seven divisions and plan to complete their marathon challenge at Taunton Towns final home game on the 23-24 season in April.
Jack said: “We headed out of Taunton late on Tuesday 28th November heading to Newcastle and then after getting some breakfast we actually start the challenge outside St James Park, Newcastle at 10am on Wednesday 29th November.
“We plan to visit the clubs in this order- Newcastle Burnley Liverpool Everton Manchester United Manchester City Sheffield United Nottingham Forest Aston Villa Wolverhampton Wanderers Luton Town Tottenham Arsenal West Ham Chelsea Brentford Fulham Crystal Palace Brighton Bournemouth and hopefully visit all of those stadiums in around 24hrs!”
Jack added: “I have always wanted to help children from our own country live a better and more peaceful life which is why we have chosen to support Children’s Hospice South West. Every penny we raise will be donated so please give generously to help us this charity who do such a fantastic job and help so many young people and their families to make the most of their short lives.”
