A NEW weather warning has been issued for Somerset and the South West as temperatures continue to drop.
A yellow warning for ice will be in place from 10pm tonight (Thursday, November 30) until 10am tomorrow morning (Friday, December 1).
The Met Office said “ice may make for hazardous conditions, mainly on untreated surfaces.
“Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements, and cycle paths, leading to an increased chance of accidents or injuries.”
A warning for ice will also be in place tomorrow (Friday, December 1) the Met Office said, and will cover some areas of Somerset and Devon, as their map shows.
This follows a previous warning currently, still in place in Somerset and the rest of the region until 4pm, for ice and snow.
The Taunton, Minehead, Chard, and Ilminster areas, as well as much of Devon, are covered by the yellow weather warning.
Temperatures will struggle to rise above freezing, with a maximum of 4degsC possible, although the wind chill factor will make it feel more like -3degsC.
