Nestled in Shepton Mallet, Charlton House is preparing for a jam-packed festive season.

The Montigo Resorts Somerset estate plans an array of offerings to light up the Christmas period.

On December 3, the Nordic-inspired Christmas market opens, showcasing Somerset's top artisans and creatives from 10am until 4pm.

Then, on December 10, prospective gonk makers can learn their craft with award-winning Somerset florist, Ms Julia Moore, before enjoying an afternoon tea.

Materials for the workshop and afternoon tea are included in the £55 ticket price.

A luxe wreath making masterclass will take place on December 17, with all materials and a festive afternoon tea included for £85.

On select dates, there will be Festive Party Nights, which include live entertainment and three-course meals from £49.

For a more relaxed experience, the resort provides Christmas roasts on Wednesdays and Sundays, with two courses at £23, or three for £29.

Extra special Christmas stay packages are available, where celebrations include parlour games, mulled wine, tailored meals and even cathedral visits.

To end the year in style, The Montigo Masquerade will run on New Year's Eve, offering entertainment, dining and activities for members and guests.
