THREE people have been taken to hospital after a collision that took place yesterday (Sunday, December 3) near Taunton.

Two people were taken to Musgrove Park Hospital by land ambulance, and another was taken to Southmead Hospital by air ambulance after a collision on the A358, near Staplegrove and Norton Fitzwarren.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 3.59pm on Sunday, December 3 to a road traffic incident on the A358 near Staplegrove.

“We sent three double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer, and two air ambulances.

“We conveyed two patients by land ambulance to Musgrove Park Hospital and one patient by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital.”

An Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called to the A358 Silk Mills Lane, in Norton Fitzwarren, at around 4pm yesterday (Sunday 3 December) following a two-vehicle collision.

"One person was taken to hospital by air ambulance. Their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"The road was closed while emergency services attended. It reopened at around 8pm.
