CRICKETERS at a Taunton club will be hoping their flooded pitch isn't an invitation to ducks next season.

The Taunton Deane Cricket Club home, at The Convent Field, next to Vivary Park is under several inches of muddy water following the torrential rain on Sunday and yesterday.

Fortunately, the water appears to have stayed out of the pavilion.

A social media post by the club this morning says: "Morning all. Water sports day at the Deane!"

There's no point in starting a clean up today though - Taunton is under a yellow weather warning for rain on Thursday with the prospect of more flooding.

It's a good job it's December and the start of the cricket season is a number of months away.
