PLANS have been submitted to Somerset Council to turn offices into homes in Taunton town centre.
The application is to turn the current building at 11 Canon Street, Taunton, into ten dwellings.
This building, which is near the Priory Close vets, is currently used as offices and is showing signs of “external disrepair”.
Gainsborough Group Construction Ltd. has applied to turn the building into ten new homes, with the residents being able to use the existing car park.
The site lies directly opposite Somerset County Cricket Club – making these new homes highly desirable for cricket fans.
In the planning statement, it says: "There will be no impacts on the character or sustainability of the conservation area as the buildings have been used for office space for a number of years and there are no proposed changes to the external appearance of either building other than replacement windows and doors."
To comment or view the plans, the planning reference number is 38/23/0410/CMA.
