FOND memories of birthday cakes her mum made for her as a child has led to Holly Miller winning a top award.
Holly, who runs Yeovil-based wedding cake business Cake Design, has won The Wedding Industry Awards Southwest Wedding Cake Designer of the Year.
She now progresses to the national awards in London in January.
Holly delivers her creations nationally and specialises in bespoke, unique and luxury wedding cake design.
She said: "As a child I have fond memories of my mum always baking beautiful cakes for our birthdays.
"That job was inevitably passed down to me and I started baking for my children's birthdays and fell in love with cake decorating.
"In January 2016 I decided to take the plunge and start my own little cake business.
"With my passion for stunning things and my romantic heart on the sleeve attitude, I was of course drawn to the beauty and magic of the wedding cake- theatrical, eye catching and whimsical."
Holly added: "Designing wedding cakes is such a lovely job and it is always such an honour to help a couple piece together and bring to life their ideas, plans and dreams, for their big day.
"It is such an exciting feeling on the day of delivery, when you drive up to the most beautiful venues, step inside and take in the hubbub of set up and feel that anticipation of your couple's day.
"You then put your cake in place and take a step back and a deep breath and think, 'I made that'.
"And that feeling of knowing you have been a tiny part of that couples amazing day and that unity of love and start of their new life together, is just fantastic."
