A MINEHEAD violinist has performed in another leg of his European tour in aid of UNICEF.

Anthony Knight was at the Grand Hotel Kempinski in Riga, Latvia, From December 11 to December 16.

He has already played in the lobby bar of Albergo Cavalletto e Doge Orseolo, San Marco, one of the oldest hotels in Venice, dating from 1308 and situated next to a gondola station.

He recently played as the leader of the second violins with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Awards for Young Musicians Awards Day at Maida Vale Studios along with a number of other award winners.

Anthony’s tour will continue in the new year when he will visit Central Europe.

He is booked to perform in the Lobby Lounge of Palais Hansen Kempinski, Vienna on Monday, February 12; the Winter Garden Atrium of Aria Hotel Prague on Thursday 15; and the Living Room of Kempinski Hotel Corvinus, Budapest on Saturday 17.

The teenager was also invited by the Princess of Wales to attend a carol service at Westminster Abbey recently.

Combining traditional and modern elements, the service saw the Westminster Abbey choir perform some of the nation’s best-loved carols, alongside musical performances by guests including Beverley Knight, Adam Lambert, Jacob Collier, Freya Ridings, and James Bay.
