RESIDUAL delays remain after a multi-vehicle collision on the M5 Southbound near Taunton earlier today (Friday, December 22).
At around 2.50pm today, Travel Somerset reported: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary due to multi-vehicle accident Southbound at J25 A358 (Taunton). We'll update when we can. Please plan ahead."
Traffic was stopped for around 10 minutes.

Although all lanes are open, debris from the collision is still causing delays.
Inrix reports: "Queueing traffic due to earlier accident, three cars involved and debris on road on M5 Southbound at J25 A358 (Taunton). All lanes have been re-opened. Traffic was stopped at around 14:40 for ten minutes whilst debris was cleared from the road, but all lanes have now been cleared. Residual delays remain."
The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust has been contacted for a comment.
