TAUNTON Town Council has revealed the Mayor of Taunton has supported 153 engagements since being elected in May earlier this year.

The town council itself only formed on April 1, and Cllr Nick O’Donnell was elected as the first Mayor of Taunton in May 2023.

He has since supported over 19 local engagements per month.

Perhaps the most recent and notable of the total 153 occasions was the opening of County Classics Motor Museum on North Street, which saw Cllr O'Donnell work with TV star Richard Hammond and Somerset Council Chairman Mike Best to welcome the exciting new attraction to the town.

The Mayor represents Taunton on ceremonial occasions, welcomes national and international visitors and attends events organised by local people and community groups.
