SEVERAL road closures are currently in place due to floods and rising water on the Levels.
Travel Somerset reported: “Lipe Lane/Cheats Road remains flooded today (Thursday), affecting Ruishton, Creech St Michael, and Henlade.
“Also three emergency road closure gates are closed on the Levels due to rising water: New Road, Cutts Road, Langport to Muchelney Road.”

The Environment Agency said they "have been working hard to manage flooding on Somerset Levels and Moors".

The EA also said "a weather band coming in this afternoon is likely to bring rain in the South West meaning rivers and groundwater will react quickly".
Motorists and residents are reminded of a yellow warning for rain across the South West today.
Travel Somerset also said: “Please be aware if you're out on the roads - there's likely to be some flooding, so plan ahead and don't take risks, it's not worth it.”
The warning will be in place from 12pm today until 3am tomorrow (Friday, January 5).
