CHILDREN'S charity Brainwave was the beneficiary of an amazing £12,855 in proceeds from the annual Christmas Ball of The Stand Club, Taunton.

The ball was held at Somerset County Cricket Club late in November and was attended by over 230 guests, which included members from the club and their families.

The generous donation will enable Brainwave to unlock the potential for even more children with disabilities and additional needs, both locally and across the UK, through their provision of its unique multi-disciplinary therapy programmes.

Chairman of The Stand Club in Taunton Robert Small said: “I am delighted to announce the success of our recent charity Christmas Ball, which not only brought our members and good friends together in the spirit of camaraderie, but also raised a significant sum for the deserving local charity Brainwave.

"Our club, founded in July 1965, has always been dedicated to fostering social relations and promoting sports, and this event truly encapsulated our commitment to both.

"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed, ensuring that together we make a positive impact on our community."

Keith Sinclair, Brainwave chief executive, said, ‘We are beyond grateful to The Stand Club for nominating us as their chosen charity and for the generosity of those that attended the event.

"The funds raised will enable us to provide assessments for 10 children, which is fantastic news. Thank you, we really appreciate your support."
