THE clean up operation has been underway at locations across Somerset today (Monday, January 22) following Storm Isha.

A number of trees were brought down during the strong winds experienced in the county between yesterday evening and the early hours of this morning.

We have already reported about a tree down in Taunton High Street.

Travel Somerset has published images of trees that came crashing down in four locations.

Along with the pictures on X (formerly Twitter) is the comment: "Our teams have been busy dealing with the aftermath of #stormIsha - some of the fallen trees they've had to clear."

The fallen trees were in: A396 Wheddon Cross to Bridgetown Road; Tor Hole Rd, Chewton Mendip; Rode Hill, Rode; Beacon Lane, Corton Denham.
