THERE are going to be some crazy antics at a village cricket club on a summer afternoon in August - without a ball being bowled.
The Stogumber club is hosting the first running of its soapbox race.
The Stogumball Rally is an off-road race for amateurs and enthusiasts.
There are sure to be a few bumps and bruises in home-made vehicles as competitors hurtle down a winding course on sloping fields.
The event on Sunday, August 25, will raise money for Children's Hospice South West through team entry fees and ticket sales.
It is open to all ages and will feature races for adults and children.
There are strict rules for the soapboxes, so if you're brave enough to enter, best check out the rules and sign up at www.stogumbersoapbox.org/
