POP star Olly Murs has been anything but a trouble...trouble maker in February 2016 as he donated his “old clobber” to a brand new charity shop in Taunton.

Murs was one of many celebrities to donate clothes to Brainwave, a children’s charity, after its shop opened in Bridge Street.

Chart-topping sensation Olly was a patron of Brainwave and made sure all of his clothes were ‘wrapped up’ as he gave a selection of his cast-offs to be sold for the charity.

The at the time X Factor host said he was delighted to help out.

“Brainwave is an amazing children’s charity that is very close to my heart, and I’m very proud to be their patron,” he said.

“Every penny goes such a long way with Brainwave and I have donated some of my clothes to be sold to help raise additional funds.

"Brainwave has opened a new store in Taunton where these will be on sale. If you’re in the area check out some of my old clobber and help a very deserving charity.”

Other celebrity items up for grabs were signed hats from England rugby captain Chris Robshaw and his partner, classical singer Camilla Kerslake, as well as Olympic medalist Sharron Davies and singer Susan Boyle.

Cerys Matthews, of the Welsh band Catatonia, donated a signed album.

Brainwave, which had a centre in Bridgwater, hosts physiotherapy, occupational therapy and language and speech therapy.

Phil Edge, chief executive of Brainwave, said: “In order to make a difference to the lives of so many families in the South West, Brainwave relies on the generosity of its supporters, not least those who help our

charity shops by snapping up bargains, giving us regular donations to sell and by volunteering to help with the day to day running of the shops.

“We’re so grateful for the generosity we receive from both the public and our celebrity supporters and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them both in enabling the Brainwave Centre in Bridgwater to help

so many children.”
