PRIOR planning approval has been granted to convert offices near the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton into flats.
Planners at Somerset Council have not raised objections to proposals for 12 homes in premises at 11 Canon Street.
The site features a three-storey block facing onto the road and a two-storey one to the rear.
Gainsborough Group Construction Ltd had submitted an application to the council, which included plans for the residents to use the existing car park.
The submission said: "There will be no impacts on the character or sustainability of the conservation area as the buildings have been used for office space for a number of years and there are no proposed changes to the external appearance of either building other than replacement windows and doors."
