Clarks Village continues to invest in the community as it opens grant applications for local not-for-profit organisations.

The Landsec Futures Community Grant Scheme provides funding with grants between £1,000 and £3,000.

To be eligible for the grants, applicants must be a registered charity or not-for-profit organisation that benefits the community in the South West region.

A shortlist will be created by the Charities Aid Foundation and reviewed by community grants panels comprised of local members of the community.

Clarks Village has already demonstrated its commitment to the community by awarding a total of £7,000 in grants to local community groups, including community-owned social enterprises, organisations offering cancer support, and not-for-profit children’s support services.

The community grants programme is just one part of Landsec's wider national commitment, which encompasses a £20m social impact investment towards maximising the potential of people, places, and the communities it serves.

Somerset County Gazette: Clarks Village is also committed to becoming a net zero carbon business by 2040

Centre director of Landsec-owned Clarks Village, Chris Davis, said: "As part of our long-term investment in the region, our community grants programme ensures we can continue to support local organisations that know their places best to effectively address the most pressing social and economic challenges our communities face."

The Landsec Futures initiative is set to deliver £200 million worth of social value by 2030 and support at least 30,000 people from underrepresented socio-economic backgrounds towards long-term employment.

Since 2019, Clarks Village has generated over £116,000 in social value for the local community in Somerset and supported 148 local residents through education and employment programmes.

The Landsec Futures Community Grant scheme applications will remain open until February 19 at 5.30pm, with anticipated grant decisions made by the end of April.
