A BANNED motorist caught drug driving has lost his licence for a further three years.
Gavin John Davies, 37, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Taunton Magistrates' Court after previously having pleaded guilty to the offence.
The court was told he was behind the wheel of a Citroen C5 on the M5 near Burlescombe on April 4, 2022, when the proportion of delta-9-te trahydrocannabinol in his blood exceeded the specified limit.
He was given a community order including 100 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 towards the Crown Prosecution Service costs.
Davies was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 36 months.
He also admitted driving while disqualified, for which he was made subject of the same community order
He received no separate penalty for the offence of driving without insurance.
