A POPULAR street food van selling baked potatoes and more in Taunton town centre is looking for a new owner.

Mark Watts has been at the helm of the Spud-Shack on Fore Street for eight years, but is now looking for a new candidate to take over the business.

He revealed that the recent stardom of TikTok user 'Spudman' has seen a surge in sales at the stall, leading him to believe Spud-Shack's prospective new owner could be the 'next social media superstar'.

In a Facebook post, Mark said: "It’s time for the Spud-Shack in Taunton to have a new owner.

"We have been open and profitable from the first days trading eight years ago but now this business, pitch, customer good will, website and social media presence plus everything you need to trade and grow could be yours.

"Very low overheads, a supportive council pitch, daytime (or evening hours) to suit your lifestyle and an opportunity to grow the business further and take it to the next level.

"We don’t just sell jackets potatoes (our licence allows for lots of foods and can be changed) however due to the heroics on TikTok of fellow trader ‘Spudman’ we have seen a resent surge in spud sells, you could be the next social media superstar.

"We will continue to trade until a new owner is found and will support new owners if required. I'm only selling due to getting divorced and moving away from the area.
