A 'HIGHLY-RATED' chocolatier business and associated 'factory' near Taunton have gone up for rent after the company closed in January 2023.

Discover Chocolate, based at Deanscross Farm, in Lydeard St Lawrence near Taunton, specialised in producing no added sugar chocolate bars, in a wide variety of flavours with many vegan options.

According to Hilton Smythe: "The business closed back in January 2023 as our client was offered a new job within a different sector.

"When trading the business held a high ranking on Etsy, Ebay and Amazon, as was sold in around 250 stores in the UK 70 in the USA and around 35 world wide this was achieved through direct sales and 5 wholesalers."

The main equipment in the factory is three 'Key Chocolate' tempering machines weighing around 75kg, 30kg and 15kg, along with a tempering fride, a flow wrapper with several moulds, and packaging, with the factory able to produce around 1500 - 2000 chocolate bars per day.

 It also includes sinks, tables and storage - although a full equipment list detailing everything in the factory can be requested.

The business is located within an industrial unit spanning around 2000sqft with a ramp attached outside, along with three phase power.

Speaking on the leasehold rent, a spokesperson for Hilton Smythe said: "The unit costs £420 per month and are able to leave this unit immediately if required however we have been advised the Landlord is happy to extend the lease."
