The stretch of road was closed in both directions yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, February 14) after a collision.
Avon and Somerset Police said a Range Rover driver was airlifted to hospital after the collision with a lorry.
The lorry driver was taken to hospital by land ambulance with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
An emergency road closure was in place and the council’s highways team organised a clear-up following a significant diesel spill.
