JACK Scadden and his crew are back home after completing the third leg of the 164 Stadium Challenge in aid of Children’s Hospice South West when they reached Exeter City on Sunday afternoon.

The challenge Jack has set himself is to visit all the home grounds of the 164 football clubs who play in the top seven tiers of the football league, finishing at Taunton Town later this spring.

Prior to completing this latest leg Jack had already undertaken the challenge to visit all 20 Premier League Clubs and the 24 clubs in the Championship, and now he can tick off the grounds of the 24 teams in League One.

Shortly after arriving back he said:” It all went pretty well and surprisingly I wasn’t too tired.

We set off at 10am Saturday from outside of Brunton Park the home of Carlisle  and finished at 3.57pm on Sunday at St James’ Parkin Exeter, so t took us 29 hours and 57 minutes and the distance of this leg of the challenge was 1290 miles.

“One of the longest trips between the stadiums was the first one between Carlisle and Fleetwood, but once we got the Blackpool there weren’t too many long drives. It all went pretty well and surprisingly I wasn’t too tired.

“Even in League One there are some pretty big stadiums and there are clubs who have been in the Premiership like Wigan, Derby and Bolton and they were all impressive. Bolton was probably he biggest stadium we visited but I also enjoyed visiting Fratton Park the home of Portsmouth, which has an old fashioned feel about it.

“I’d like to thank Wellington Motors for the The Nissan X Trail that we used- it’s a great car and provided us with a very comfortable mode of transport and we are very grateful to them for their continued support. Id also like to thank everybody else who has supported us so far in the challenge.

“Everywhere we went people were really helpful and were welcoming and interested in what we were doing, in fact the more we are getting into it the more people are finding out about it.”

Jack added:”  The next leg of the challenge is to visit the homes of all the teams in League Two which we planning to undertake before Easter.

To date the 164 Stadium Challenge has raised £600 for Children’s Hospice South West- anybody wishing to support this very worthwhile charity can do so by logging onto Jack Scadden’s Just Giving page.
