POLICE were called to reports of the river bursting its banks in Frome for the third time this year.
Officers were called to the Wallbridge area of Frome as cars got stuck in flood water and shared these photos today (Tuesday, February 27).
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Again, Neighbourhood officers were called to the Wallbridge area with regards to the river bursting its bank in Frome.
“This is, remarkably, the third time this year this has happened.
“Police and fire were on the scene with the most recent incident due to cars being stuck in the floods.”
The recent heavy rain caused disruptions across Somerset last week.
Yesterday, Lipe Lane/Cheat Road in Ruishton was flooded and the B3188 was closed due to a fallen tree.
A park in Taunton town centre was also affected by the downpour and Somerset Council’s Grounds Maintenance teams cleared around 800 tons of sand from Minehead seafront walkways.
