THE Street and Glastonbury Neighbourhood Policing teams have joined forces with Glastonbury Town Council to secure a house which was "taken over as a squat."

Those who were using the property have been referred to outreach workers, who will give them the support they need.

The property has been boarded up to prevent people from re-entering.

Avon and Somerset Police urge residents to report anti-social behaviour on their website.

Police define this as "behaviours and activities which cause harm or distress to an individual, community or neighbourhood."

A Mendip Neighbourhood Policing spokesperson said: "The Street and Glastonbury Neighbourhood Policing Teams have been working in partnership with Glastonbury Town Council to secure a house that was taken over as a squat.

"The property has now been boarded up to stop people re-entering.

"We have referred the individuals using the property to outreach workers so they can receive the required support."
