TWO housing developments in Somerset are expected to be fully sold and occupied in the summer.

More than 90 per cent of properties at David Wilson Homes South West’s Nerrols Grange development on Nerrols Drive and Moorland Gate site on Taunton Road are now sold.

Construction on the last remaining homes is currently underway at the two developments and the latest customers to complete purchases at the sites include first-time buyers, families, and people downsizing for retirement.

Both developments are surrounded by six acres of lush green open space where many homes benefit from uninterrupted views of the nearby countryside, with some overlooking the stunning Quantock Hills.

Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, said: “We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to both Nerrols Grange and Moorland Gate since their launch in December 2020 and we’re proud to see these developments nearing completion.

“There is a range of people living at the sites now from first-time buyers to families who have found their ‘forever’ home. “These two developments have brought thriving new communities to Somerset.

“The exceptional sales figures reflect the desirability of our properties and the trust homebuyers place in our brand.”

A new mortgage scheme is currently available at Nerrols Grange.

The Rate Reducer scheme, run by Own New, allows buyers to take advantage of mortgage rates as low as 0.99 per cent which compares to average rates of more than five per cent on the open market.

Someone looking to buy a £300,000 new build property would need at least a 40 per cent deposit to be eligible for the cheapest 0.99 per cent two-year fixed rate via the scheme which promises rates not far from the record lows seen in autumn 2021.

Louise added: “This scheme will give buyers the financial boost they need to get them onto the property ladder.

“They’ll be able to compare all options available to them to make sure they get a mortgage product that is right for them and in their long-term financial interests.”
