SOMERSET Armed Forces Day will return to Taunton’s Vivary Park this summer with a variety of events that will also include a freestyle motocross stunt team.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 6, with flypasts from The Red Arrows and The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in the skies over Taunton and much more to enjoy on the ground.

Stallholders from all over the county have booked stands, there will be food, drinks, cakes, cookies, doughnuts, you name it, it will be there.

Entertainment in the Arena throughout the day and a second smaller stage with live performances from a hugely diverse range of artists, dancers, and singers to keep you amused all day.

Somerset County Gazette:

This fabulous free fun day is a huge celebration of our Armed Forces across the globe, our veterans, and our reserve and cadet forces.

A spokesperson said: “We are hugely proud of our military links here in Taunton, especially that of 40 Commando, given the honour of Freedom of the Borough of Taunton Deane in 2003 by Taunton Deane Borough Council.

“Allowing them the right to March through Taunton with ‘Swords drawn, Bayonets fixed, Bands playing and Colours flying.’ They last exercised this right on National Armed Forces Day back in 2018."

This year’s entertainers will also include The Squibb Freestyle Motocross Stunt Team.

Established by Jamie Squibb, three times national FMX champion, their shows are high-octane.

Containing radical airborne motorcycle aerobatic stunts, which can have multi-rider line-ups choreographed to music, this is a show you do not want to miss.

The organisers have confirmed other amazing acts for the day so far, and you can keep up to date with all the attractions over on their Facebook page: Somerset Armed Forces Day, or keep an eye on their website www.somersetarmedforcesday.com.
