A campervan conversion business which started from humble beginnings during the COVID-19 pandemic, is now going from 'strength to strength.'

Crafty Otter Campers started when Luke left his job as a tree surgeon during the pandemic and bought a campervan, which he converted on the driveway of his girlfriend’s house in Ottery, which he said he really enjoyed doing.

He soon sold the campervan, and converted a few more from the driveway, working on these in his spare time.

In 2020, Luke and his now wife Jessica moved house to Buckerell, and on the day of completion Luke took the plunge, resigned from the security of his job and became a self-employed campervan converter. Crafty Otter Campers was officially born, albeit still on a driveway!

Luke taught himself how to do the conversions, and is now training his small team in all things campervan. The business is thriving, and customers flock from all over the UK, not just Devon, to Crafty Otter Campers in the beautiful valley of the river Otter. Luke told the Herald that they have had business from Oxford, Cornwall, the New Forest and the Cotswolds.

The business has gone from strength to strength, Jessica has joined the team, they have employed members of staff to help them with the work load and they have recently moved to a bigger and better workshop in Honiton.

Luke told the Herald: "Adventures start right here with a Crafty Otter Campers van conversion. Built for the love of the ocean, the mountains and everything in between. It all starts with the van.
