A CRUCIAL A-Road in Somerset is set to be made one-way for almost three weeks at the end of this month.
The A39 Glastonbury Road, which links Wells to Glastonbury from the Strawberry Way roundabout, will be closed in one direction whilst a gas main is replaced.
The works are expected to commence on Tuesday, May 28 and continue until Friday, June 14.
During this time, Wales and West Utilities will carry out works to replace a metallic gas main with a plastic one.
Somerset Council say the one-way system will be in effect from a point 176 metres northeast from the junction with Wand Road, in a north-easterly direction to the A39 Strawberry Way Roundabout.
The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.
Temporary traffic lights have been in place on part of the road for weeks now as Wales and West Utilities continue to work.
The traffic control system currently in place will last until Friday, May 17, before the one-way system is implemented on Tuesday, May 28.
