A TAUNTON town councillor has logged some areas for a clean-up after noticing “a rise in tagging”.
After noticing tags and initials on council-owned buildings across the town, councillor Federica Smith-Roberts said she is a “huge fan” of graffiti “when it is done well,” but added she is “not a huge fan of tagging initials”.
The councillor also added she noticed the rise in tagging within Taunton East and has logged those areas for clean-up.
She said: “We have seen a rise in tagging at present across the town, especially a lot within Taunton East on both council-owned apparatus and also on electricity substations.
“I am a huge fan of public art and graffiti when it is done well, but not a huge fan of tagging of initials.
“Have you seen the wonderful art that Aerosol Art has undertaken on the side of the multi-storey car park in Taunton? Such talent and with a social message, check it out if you haven't.
“I have logged some areas for clean-up that have been tagged but if you do come across any you can find out who to log with and if it's the council can log below - https://www.somerset.gov.uk/road.../flyposting-and-graffiti/".
