EVENING closures will be in place while essential maintenance works will be carried out on a roundabout in Wiveliscombe.

The work will be carried out by Somerset Council on the B3227 Sandy’s Moor Roundabout.

The council’s highways team will be resurfacing the road from this Thursday, June 13 to Wednesday, June 19, and there will need to be a closure in place for the safety of the public and workforce.

To ensure disruption is minimised work will take place in the evenings only 6.30pm to 11.30pm between these dates, excluding weekends and outside these hours, when the road will be open as normal.

A council spokesperson said: “We understand this will have an impact on road users and residents which is why we are doing the work in the evenings.

“Our team will do everything they can to minimise disruption.

“It’s important we carry out this work as the road is showing signs of wear and tear.”

A diversion will be in place while the road is closed.
