A FLAG-RAISING ceremony in support of the Armed Forces took place this morning in Taunton town centre.
Somerset Council and Taunton Town Council once again showed their support with the event at the County Hall at 11am today (June 24).
The service was hosted at County Hall in Taunton by the Chair of Somerset Council, Councillor Mike Best, and the Mayor of Taunton, Councillor Vanessa Garside.
Councillor Mike Best previously said: “Flying the Armed Forces Day flag is a mark of our respect and support for the Armed Forces from serving personnel to service families, veterans and cadets.
“It’s an honour to have this opportunity to recognise the sacrifices and the contribution they have made and continue to make to the nation and our local communities.”
