DANESFIELD Middle School in Williton has closed for the rest of this week due to "a lack of senior staff".
Parents were informed of the week-long closure on Monday, July 1, in an email sent by the school's Chair of Trustees Andy Giles.
The email from Danesfield Middle School read: "Dear Parents/Carers, We write to inform you of the temporary closure of Gainesville School for the remainder of this week.
"Unforeseen circumstances have forced this reluctant decision due to the absence of staff in key management positions.
"We apologise profusely for the late notice, but under the circumstances, a temporary closure is necessary to ensure the wellbeing of pupils and staff.
"The school will reopen on Monday 8th July. All school trips planned for this week will, unfortunately, be postponed.
"We have not taken this decision lightly, and again, our apologies for any inconvenience we know that this will cause you.
"kind regards, Andy Giles, Chair of Trustees, Trudy Danby, Interim CEO."
A message on the school's website reads: "Temporary closure of Danesfield school for the remainder of this week - school re-opens on 8 July."
