Two primary schools have been given a prestigious award after competing in a school games.
Middlezoy and Othery Primary Schools, near Bridgwater, received the School Games Mark Bronze Award 2023-24 on Monday (July 8).
This award recognises pupils taking part in various sports competitions over the academic year, which included winning the January Basketball Tournament at Huish Academy in January and taking part in a hockey tournament.
The children also attended cricket festivals at Taunton Cricket Ground and the Tag Rugby Festival at Somerton RFC.
Back in school, pupils competed in a Sports Afternoon, showcasing their sporting prowess both as a team and individually.
To mark the end of the year, year six children participated in a unique fancy dress race, donning quirky costumes involving ra-ra skirts, leg warmers, rubber gloves, hats and wigs while racing on space hoppers.
