A TAUNTON youth has been banned from getting behind the wheel of a vehicle for a year for drug-driving.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty at Taunton Magistrates’ Court to possession of cannabis or cannabis resin and to driving a vehicle while the proportion of a controlled drug in his system was over the specified limit.

The offences took place on March 24 this year.
As well as an obligatory driving disqualification, he was made the subject of a three-month referral order and told to pay £50 towards prosecution costs.
The court ordered the 2.5 grams of cannabis to be forfeited and destroyed.
