A TAUNTON pub near the train station closed this time four years ago after news of a gas leak.
The Plough Inn is a well-known free house pub that serves a range of drinks including eight ciders on tap.
Four years ago, customers of the Plough Inn were turned away in the evening due to a reported gas leak.
A notice in the window of The Plough at the time informed customers of the closure but added that it would be opening again within the next day.
Served from 12pm – 4pm the pub serves a Sunday lunch - with three courses available.
Prices start from £12 for one Sunday Lunch course, with two courses costing £15 and three courses £18.
Other food options include the Plough-man’s lunch and a ‘posh fish finger sandwich’, with more options available in the pub.
You can find the Plough Inn at 75 Station Rd, Taunton, TA1 1PB.
Rated four out of five stars on Tripadvisor, the pub is praised for its drink selections with one customer posting a review online saying that the pub has a “great cider selection.”
Rating it five stars out of a possible five, the customer went on to say: “When I am in Taunton, I always make time to call into The Plough, usually before catching the train home as the station is nearby.
“The standard and variety of cider from the box on offer is excellent.
“Yesterday I had time to try three ciders, all distinctively different, and all excellent, two of them were new to me which was a bonus.
“The staff member who served me was very knowledgeable about the local ciders on offer, and helpful too.”
Another customer reviewed The Plough saying: “Absolutely fantastic bar with a great atmosphere.
“The staff and locals are very friendly and are fantastic to chat and have a drink with.
“They have a great range of local cider, and the homemade pork scratching is a must. The Sunday Roast looked and smelt fantastic unfortunately I never got to taste it.
“Happy hour is from 4pm to 7pm but it’s very cheap out with these hard times. If in Taunton, it's a must-visit for a great traditional pub.”
