A WELL-KNOWN pub in Taunton offers a ‘different street in Taunton every week’ an unlimited buffet with discounted drinks.
The Racehorse Inn has posted on social media an offer that many people wouldn’t turn down if looking for a night out with cheap drinks and free food.
The pub's post states: “Each week a random local street is selected, and the residents are invited to the Racehorse Inn for a complimentary buffet and discounted drinks.
“So, this Thursday (September 12) from 7pm, please bring along this flyer along for a 20 per cent discount on all drinks and help yourself to our free buffet.”
Under the post, the pub also states the aim to “give to our local residents”.
To get the flyer, you can access it on social media via the Racehorse Inn's Facebook page or you can collect a physical flyer in the pub.
The pub is open every day from 12pm-11pm.
Online the Racehorse Inn is rated a total of 3.5 out of 5 on Tripadvisor – with several people praising the pub for its value and service.
One user commented after the reopening in late 2023: “Pub just opened I used to come here years ago.
“This is a traditional pub but it's very spacious.
“It's doing live music so it was very busy, but it was fun. A traditional feel with live TVs, pool table, fruit machine and modern jukebox.”
One user wasn’t so happy about the pub and made it very clear online saying: “Whoever owns this place needs to send a manager to assess the current situation.
“Tragic management here, I walked in and my feet stuck to the floor, the barman was not on this planet, this place is doomed as it is.
“Such a shame.”
Another user commented: “A great, old-fashioned pub where we were welcomed by a dog named Bilbo and a few of the locals.
“Had a great time.
“They (owners) even invited us to attend a fund-raising BBQ on Sunday. We didn't have a meal here, but it probably is, as one of the patrons said, the best pub in Taunton.”
