Taunton's historical figures were brought to life at St James Church.
On September 7, visitors encountered characters such as an 18th-century explorer, the governor of Wilton Gaol, and the sister of a shipwrecked soldier.
The event also featured the man who rebuilt St James Church's tower, as well as the two longest-serving teachers of the old St James's school.
Flower displays creatively followed the themes of these historical characters and events.
The church tower was open, offering a view of the surrounding hills, town, and cricket ground.
For those who missed the event, the tower will be open again on September 14, with the historical characters in attendance.
Tea, coffee, and light refreshments will be available.
This event is one of several in Taunton as part of the Heritage Open Days, which offer free entry to historical buildings across the country.
