WORKS are being carried out to “support the future development” of the Firepool site in Taunton.
Sewage works are currently underway as they are needed to help future construction of the North Boulevard.
This is part of a green link between the railway station and the town’s riverside.
A spokesperson for Somerset Council said: “Sewage improvement works, include the laying of new pipes, are being done by Wessex Water on behalf of Somerset Council.
“These are needed to support future development of the site, including constructions of the North Boulevard which will be a green link between Taunton Railway Station and the town’s riverside.
“The work is being funded from the Future High Streets Fund.”
