PLANS for The Big Somerset Picnic have been revealed for 2025 by Somerset's community coming together
The Big Somerset Picnic is an annual community event that brings together people from across Somerset for a day of outdoor fun, food, and festivities.
The event supports local farmers, artisans, and entertainers while fostering a strong sense of community spirit.
The Big Somerset Picnic 2025 is set to take place over the Somerset Day weekend of the 10 and 11 of May 2025.
The final location will be announced at the start of the new year.
This year’s events promise to be the biggest and best yet, celebrating Somerset’s vibrant communities and rich cultural heritage and offering local charities, organisations and communities opportunities to raise funds.
Nigel Muers-Raby, CEO of Passion for Somerset, the not-for-profit Community Interest Company behind Somerset Day and the Big Somerset Picnic said “Whether you're looking to fundraise for a local cause, gather your community together for a good time, or simply indulge in some delicious local grub, The Big Somerset Picnic is your big opportunity”.
"Taking place in your local village or town hall, community centre, place of learning, care home, office, or business premises, The Big Somerset Picnic is more than just an event.
It’s an opportunity for communities to come together, enjoy a ‘picnic’ indoors or outdoors, and celebrate the county’s unique spirit whilst raising funds for a local organisation or cause."
