TRAFFIC on the M5 near Taunton has been affected today after an emergency barrier repair has been enforced.
Lane three heading northbound and southbound on the M5 has been closed while the work is completed.
There is no update as of right now as to when the lanes will reopen.
It is unconfirmed what caused the barrier to break and how long it will take to repair.
The barrier repairs remain active on the northbound side, but the southbound carriageway has now been held for flooding.
Due to current weather conditions, delays to the work are expected to leave the third lane closed until 1am tomorrow (October 9).
Traffic monitor Inrix reports lane three is closed both ways. National Highways traffic cameras show queues building as work is completed.
Inrix says: "Slow traffic and one lane closed due to emergency barrier repairs on M5 in both directions at J25 A358 (Taunton). Lane three (of three) is closed."
