A TAUNTON man has been banned from driving for a year for speeding on the M5 in Somerset.
Robert Pearcey, 40, of Galmington Road, was caught travelling at 86mph on a 70mph stretch of the motorway between Sedgemoor Services and Junction 21, Taunton Deane and West Somerset Magistrates’ Court was told.
Pearcey pleaded guilty to committing the offence on December 12 last year.
He was fined £153 and ordered to pay a £61 victim surcharge, along with £90 costs.
The court ruled that the driving disqualification was obligatory due to “repeat offending”.
Pearcey must pay the total court bill of £304 by the end of March.
