THREE pubs in Somerset have been awarded as the best across three categories by CAMRA for this year.
CAMRA awards, like Pub of the Year and Club of the Year, are decided through a combination of CAMRA member voting, blind tasting panels, and regional/national competitions.
The winners are chosen by the branch committee, representing the local county area.

Three Somerset pubs have been chosen as the very best the county has to offer across three different categories. It will now be up to the 'beer scores' at each pub to see if any of the three will be shortlisted to have a chance at being named the national CAMRA pub of the year.
The three award-winning pubs in Somerset are:
Pebbles - Cider pub of the Year
Address: 24 Market St, Watchet, TA23 0AN.
Pebbles Tavern, in Watchet, has been announced as CAMRA's Somerset Cider pub of the year for 2025.
This small tavern has won numerous CAMRA awards for Cider Pub of the Year since 2014. In 2015 and 2022, it was the 'runner-up' National Cider Pub of the Year. As well as the ales, there can be up to 30 ciders, 60 gins, 24 rums and 64 whiskeys.
You are allowed to bring in your own food from various shops in Watchet whilst enjoying a drink inside.
The Wyvern Club - Club of the Year
Address: Mountfields Rd, Taunton, TA1 3BJ.
Formerly a members-only social spot, the Wyvern Club is now open to everyone and puts on regular quiz nights, shows live sport, and regular drink deals - including a Thatchers Gold for £3.80 on Tuesdays.
For over thirty-five years the Wyvern has been a great venue to drink real ales and real cider. The pub has been CAMRA Club of the Year on many occasions and also in the Guide for many years.
The Ship - Somerset pub of the Year
Address: High St, Porlock, Minehead, TA24 8QD.
The Ship, in Porlock, West Somerset, is known to locals as the ‘Top Ship'. This year is the first time the pub has won the Pub of the Year award.
The county runner-up was another village pub, the Brewers Arms in South Petherton, with Winchester Arms, in Trull, taking home a respectable third place.
CAMRA also included 10 Somerset pubs in its Good Beer Guide 2025, including the Crossways Inn, the county winner from 2024.
Mike Cleveland, who became the new CAMRA branch chair back in June 2024, said: "It’s always interesting to see which pubs and clubs our members regard as the best and this year’s award winners are all excellent places to go and enjoy a drink, and a meal if they wish, and to enjoy the unique ambience of a British pub, something that no ‘themed bar’ can match.
"As a county we are best known nationally for our ciders, and these can be enjoyed in many pubs, but we are also proud of our award-winning real ale and craft brewers.
“We are pleased to honour our winners but we know that there are many other excellent pubs in the towns and villages and we would encourage anyone to go and enjoy them, be they the ‘local’, or somewhere new on a day out. There is much to discover and enjoy.”
