The Blue School in Wells is set to receive a comprehensive educational course courtesy of UKHarvest.
This has been made possible through blue token donations and Tesco's financial contribution.
The course aims to teach students the importance of preventing food waste at home.
The Tesco Stronger Starts initiative has allowed UKHarvest to provide The Blue School with lesson plans, online or in-person educational sessions, teacher support, donated equipment such as air-fryers and slow cookers, and necessary ingredients.
Claire de Silva, Tesco UK head of communities and local media, said: "Helping schools and children’s groups access the food and resources they need is vitally important in getting children a stronger start in life."
UKHarvest has also shared that their educational programme has been significantly enhanced by the ongoing Tesco funding.
Simon Thresher, operations and compliance manager at UKHarvest, said: "The work UKHarvest has been able to do, thanks to the ongoing Tesco funding, has allowed our education programme to develop into the impactful resource it is today."
Tesco, in partnership with Groundwork UK, is also launching a £5 million grant programme to further support schools and children's groups across the UK.
The grants aim to aid schools in providing nutritious food and healthy activities for young people.
This initiative is a part of their effort to give children a stronger start in life.
