A SOMERSET-BORN jockey has been revealed to be amongst the highest-earning riders in the UK.
Harry Cobden is one of the most successful jockeys currently competing in the UK sphere.

The star jockey was born on November 5 1998 into a farming family and has always been based in Somerset, spending some of his childhood boarding at Sexey's School, in Bruton.
Harry was British Champion Conditional Jockey in 2015/16 and went on to ride as first jockey to legendary trainer, Paul Nicholls. Under Paul, and by the end of the 2023/24 season, Harry had won 24 Grade 1 races - including British Jump Racing Champion Jockey.
According to career earnings data from the British Horse Racing Authority, Harry comes in currently at third, nearly making £20 million from career prize money, Sam Twiston Davies tops Harry Skelton and Harry Cobden on the top 10 rankings for earnings at this time.

Harry Cobden hasn't had it easy during his career so far though as, when he was just 18 years old, he fractured his neck in a fall at Market Rasen.
Aside from racing he owns over 13 acres of farmland and employs two full-time gamekeepers to run a shooting business. He managed to buy this land thanks to the money he earned from his first Grade One win on Irving in 2016, as well as his champion conditional title at the end of that season. Harry is also a keen pony racer.
This year at the Cheltenham Festival, Harry Cobden won the Jack Richards Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase, coming in first place with Caldwell.
