A new digital cafe has opened at Taunton Minster to help people with technology.

The Spark iT Digital Cafe is a free service that aims to help the community feel more confident using digital devices.

The cafe welcomes everyone and offers assistance with tasks like sending emails, downloading apps, and taking and sharing photos on smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

The initiative is part of a wider network across Somerset, run by Spark iT, that aims to reduce the digital divide and ensure everyone can benefit from today's technology.

Will Palmer, a representative from Spark iT, said: "We know how important it is to stay connected in today’s world, and technology plays a huge part in that.

"Our Digital Cafe provides a relaxed and supportive space where people can ask questions without fear or embarrassment and learn at their own pace."

For further information on the cafe's services can be found by emailing sparkit@sparksomerset.org.uk or by visiting sparksomerset.org.uk/spark-it.

The digital cafe will run every other Wednesday morning from 10am until 12pm at Taunton Minster.

The next session is on Wednesday, April 30.

People can simply drop in with their device and questions, no booking is required.
