A BUSY Wells road is set to close temporarily next month to allow Bristol Water to carry out works.

Tucker Street will close from the junction with West Street, eastwards for a total distance of 57 metres, from June 2, until June 5.

The closure, near Tesco Superstore, will be in place 24 hours a day for a total of four days. This is to allow Bristol Water to "replace a service".

A diversion will be put in place, taking all traffic on a loop along Princes Street, Priory Road, and Strawberry Way [A39].

A pedestrian walkway will be provided. Tucker Street Car Park is not affected by the closures.

The entrance to Tesco Superstore on Tucker Street will not be affected by the closures, and will remain accessible via the top of Tucker Street onto Brownes Place.
