A Somerset great-grandmother has raised £900 for charity with her lifelong love of knitting.
Peggy, who lives at Brunelcare’s Glastonbury Care Home, raised the funds for Children’s Hospice South West, a charity that supports children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
The 93-year-old's fundraising total was reached through the sale of more than 500 hand-knitted items.
Peggy said: "I have been knitting for as long as I can remember.
"It was my grandmother who taught me how to knit when I was just 14 years old.
"I find it so relaxing and enjoy nothing more than sitting in my room with my wool or socialising in the lounge with my friends."
Peggy has estimated that she has used more than 1,000 balls of wool over her lifetime to create toys, blankets, and other soft items.
She currently knits for around four hours every day and keeps more than 100 balls of wool in her room.
Her colourful creations are sold at the care home, with all proceeds donated to the charity.
Edwin Jose, manager of Glastonbury Care Home, said: "We are so proud of Peggy.
"Her dedication and generosity are an inspiration to everyone here at Glastonbury Care Home.
"She’s knitting all the time, and it’s wonderful to see all her colourful creations going towards a brilliant cause."
Peggy's knitted items can be purchased from the reception area at Glastonbury Care Home, with all funds going to Children’s Hospice South West.
